Our friends Sam and Alice had a baby! This was very exciting news. Even more exciting: Sam wanted Chicken Fruit to help him tell the world about it.
Sam had a very specific idea of what he wanted, and during our initial chats about the project, he put together very comprehensive storyboards detailing what he had in mind.
During the process, we really didn’t deviate much from his initial concept, except to simplify the screen graphics a little, since the video would probably often be viewed on mobile.
There was a fair bit of pressure on us for this – firstly because we think Sam is great and we still wanted him to like us after we made the video, but also because Sam intended the video itself to be a surprise for Alice after the baby had been born. Immediately after giving birth is an awful time to be shown something you think is a bit rubbish.
Pressure aside, it was an incredible honour to introduce Sam and Alice’s beautiful little bab to the world. (Though Sam is well over six feet tall, so maybe the bab won’t stay little for long.)
